How important are SAT subject tests to Stanford?

I think i bombed my SAT subject test today. I already send my other stuff for REA. If i dont send the subject tests , how bad is it going to affect my chances?

but will I be at a disadvantage? Im really suspicious when they say "applicants are not at any disadvantage if they don't send their subject scores"

If the official Stanford website is lying to us, then we have much bigger problems to deal with. :P

My SATII's are bad but I sent them anyways. We'll see how that goes.

Think of it this way: if you don't send them in, there's no possibility of them helping you. If you do send them in, they could possibly help you (even if you think they're terrible).

you only think you bombed them

I "thought" I bombed my subject testing (had cramps for the last 2 tests) but ended up doing not too badly.

I'd send them

I actually talked to a Stanford Adcom once; SAT IIs aren't that big of a factor, though it is recommended. She said that you really had to back it up with your ECs unless you were a hardcore Genius (Stanford once admitted this kid with a perfect 2400 SAT, 7 SAT 2s all 800s, Rank 1, 20 AP Exams all 5s, and 0 ECs)

Hey, don't knock the academic die-hards. Some people consider me one. :P

i LOVE those kids. Its so easy to get along with them, everything is so simple, vs with kids who have lives, there are all these layers and formalities that you have to go through before everything becomes natural, and even then its still always a little fake. Also it takes for ****ing ever before you learn all the inside jokes w/kids who have lives.

@Starmie, i may not be in a good position to judge but you dont seem like that "type" of kid, despite having all the qualifications to be one...

i don't think being an academic robot is directly associated with a simple personality...

I don't know, I like friends who know how to balance their academic and social lives which is what Stanford seems to offer.

The fake friends I've met... just move on, it's the only option

@jony6789 true but that doesnt mean there arent ANY of those "simple personality" kids. I think we are just talking about kids who actually somewhat fit that personality type vs kids who may be academically qualified to have that personality but dont actually fit that personality.

Well, me too! But I haven't taken 20 AP's and gotten 800s on 8+ SATII's, and I'm sure you haven't either!
