You can bring your parents to Admit Weekend. I can't say I've been there, but when I went to prospective student weekends, those who brought their parents seemed to have considerably less fun (and not because we were doing illicit things, but because of the pain of having to meet up with them, sit through parent meetings, etc.).

I have the schedule for Admit Weekend and I just want to say it looks like it is definitely worth it.

Yeah, I suggest not bringing your parents. There's not much for them to do, and you'll be too busy to spend much time with them.

Do you guys suggest attending if I have already visited and money is a little tight?

I would think that among the most important draws of admit weekend is meeting your future peers and really establishing your social standing/networks early on.

S will be coming up from San Clemente with the parental units. Sounds too fun to miss.

I only was at admit weekend for half a day, and I really only got to meet one guy besides my roho and hoho.

Anyways I don't think it was too big of a deal that I missed out socially. Yeah some people become good friends, but you're probably going to make better friends in your dorm anyways. Having really good friends outside your dorm is generally difficult.

Worried about missing school :X Is it okay if I just go on the last day? Are free T-shirts really given out? Will I miss a lot if I don't go the first two days, because that would mean having to skip school Wednesday to travel up to San Jose, and then Thursday, and Friday as well. :X

    Worried about missing school

I understand where you're coming from, Gambatte, but I believe your teachers will be forgiving in terms of tests and assignments if you're visiting and potentially attending Stanford. If you're worried about catching up, work ahead and save minimal work for the time afterwards.

Or, try arranging a plan so you can leave after school on Wednesday, so you only miss two days of school....If you want to attend, there's a way to make it work.

I am going to Admit Weekend, but I was wondering if a host and/or current Stanford student could tell me what the pros/cons are of staying in a culture themed house vs. not? Also, if our parents come, will they meet our hosts?

I will be flying in from Georgia. Stanford sent me a travel grant to cover my airfare. So my question is: Should my parents come? I mean, surely they would want to see the college that I may be going to (What am I saying? "will almost definitely be going to"), but we will have to come up with money for two more plane tickets. I've seen some people saying that you shouldn't bring your parents anyway, so what would be the best course of action?

Gambattee- YOU'RE IN AT STANFORD!!! missing one or two days of school should be your reward :p
after hearing i got in on friday, i think i might get a late on-set case of senioritis. hahah

unfortunately, i cant attend admit weekend on the 22nd-24th :( i don't wanna miss out on all the fun and meeting people, but i have a funeral to attend.

But i can't wait for next fall!!!!!!!

I assume we'll be sharing room with the host? Do we need to bring sleeping bags, bath towels, etc?
