Hey, what's up?!

I'm an Egyptian student from Alexandria, and I have an SAT score of 2270 with 800M 680CR and 790WR. I also have a 770 in Biology(E) and 800 in Math(IC). I have a 4.0 GPA thus far, and I'm in grade 12. Now for the important part: I'm seriously considering studying medicine (going to medical school) in Japan, now that I know that scholarships are readily available to International students. Do you have any information about medical school in Japan? Do you have a relative who is currently studying in Japan who can gives any thoughts on scholarships in the medical field there? Any website I can go to for more information? Yeah, I know, I'm overwhelming you with these questions, but I really need some help/advice here, since I know nothing about Japan.

I can't help you a whole lot, but I do have a Japanese cousin who is currently in medical school right now. You must pass an entrance exam specific to the university you're applying for. The Japanese education system is unique in that universities don't look at applicants holistically - it's all how good your exam scores are.

There are national and private universities; my cousin is at a private which costs almost $150,000 for the first year. If you really want to go there for medicine, you'd need a scholarship unless you're willing to shell out major bank.

How is your Japanese? I'd say that's your biggest challenge. You'll have to pass a certain level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test when you apply.

Can you speak Japanese? In Japan, most people speak only Japanese as daily conversations. So, it's hard to live in Japan if you can't speak Japanese at all.

There could be some problems such as language, money, and differences between cultures, but I think it is worth studying abroad to Japan.
