How to configure summer study abroad around a quarter school's schedule

I want to study Classics and Italian language in Italy next summer, but I'm already having difficulty finding a longer-term program (ie 6 or more weeks) that works with my school's quarter system. Under the quarter schedule, we start school much later than everyone in semester schools (this year, we start Sept. 19), and we don't end until early June. Last year, I took my last exam June 8. Most study abroad programs in Italy (Rome specifically) that are longer than four weeks seem to start in late May and end in July.

Any suggestions of specific programs or ways to configure the study abroad experience so that I can begin in mid June and end in late August or early September?

This is a good question. I went to a college on a quarter system like that, and would love to hear of summer programs that fit such a schedule.

Doesn't your school have a Study Abroad office? Wouldn't that be the best place to start? You can't be the first student to ask this question.

Yeah, but I'm not back at school yet, due to the quarter system! so I've just been looking myself online...and my school's Study Abroad website details the programs the university itself sponsors (which of course fit with the quarter system); the school doesn't sponsor any programs that fit with my interests (its only Italy programs are for Architecture and Italian Language exclusively), so I was starting to look for programs outside the ones run by my school.

My d goes to RIT (a qtr school) and studied in Florence last summer. Look into Arcadia's summer pgm. There were 3 summer sessions, depending on where you want to go. My d had to skip the 1st one coz of timing. I believe she left the states around June 10 for 6 weeks. I think that was session 2.
