| Thanks a bunch! I was supposed to go to Turkey a week early to see one of my friends by their request. Plans did not work out and now I am stuck going to Turkey a week early by myself. I have thought about a few different options for what to do for that week I will have to spend alone, such as stay in a hostel or at the dorm if there are students present and that's allowed. Besides being extremely frustrated about the situation I am also a little nervous about the prospect of being in another country by myself for a week before the study abroad program starts. Do you have any suggestions or do's and don’ts about being there? Do you think it will be a good idea to go alone? My so called friend has left me in a hard spot. He has also offered to house me in a hotel in Istanbul during the days I will be there. |

| Tehlikeli Ask: Sunun icin sordum.
lollypop39: Need not worry. I can understand your frustration, as I would probably feel the same way if I was going to a foreign country by myself. But, a city like Istanbul is VERY used to seeing foreigners, so you are dealing with experienced representatives, so to speak. Plus, Turks are known to be very warm and sympathetic, so don't worry. I would say DO enjoy the food, as Istanbul is (officially by the NY Times) the best place to eat. DON'T stress out. |
