SYA - Any applicants?

is there anyone here that applied to SYA (School Year Abroad)? i applied to italy, but i dont know the language. the website said that prior knowledge isnt required, and in fact many kids on the dvd that they sent out did not know the language.

my interview went pretty well, but there were some awkward moments, like when the guy asked me how would i describe my school if a gun were to my head, and it took me like 30 seconds because my description wasnt exactly, uh, flattering. and to supplement the awkwardness, we were supposed to interview in his office at the cnn center, but the interview was right after atlanta got hit by that tornado. cnn got hit the worst, so no one was admissible except employees because of the damage. we ended up having to walk around the area trying to find a coffee shop while avoiding cranes, dumptrucks, disaster workers, and broken glass.

anyway, someone at the program said that acceptance letters would be sent out this friday, so i'm pretty pumped. i'm kind of banking on going there next year, because i dont think i can stand another year at my school.

I would go one of those programs if SYA wasn't so ridiculously expensive.
