I've applied for the 2013 NSLI-Y Summer program and I was just wondering if anyone knew of any stats regarding the acceptance rate? My first choice is Chinese (summer) and my second is Any. (summer) Stats from past years are just fine!
I applied for Arabic summer and Chinese summer as my second choice. I've heard that even just to be a semi-finalist it's cut in half though, so chances aren't great. I'm waiting impatiently!
Hi everyone! I'm a Senior, and this is my second year applying. I got to the interview part last year, but sadly, got rejected after! So 500% this year! Did anyone else apply this year?
Arabic was my first choice, Turkey second, and India 3rd!

I applied to the program this year as well and listed Turkey as my first choice and Chinese as my second. I was also wondering if we know any news on statistics, like how many semifinalists there are and how many finalist they are taking.
Does anyone know if the rejections are given out on a rolling basis or all at the end?
My daughter is waiting to hear. Her friend in the same school is a semi-finalist already...
Our experience in 2011 was that the rejections came out at the end but that was after the interviews. Both our kids made it to semi-finalist in 2011 and then were chosen for 2012.
Heck, I'm so nervous but I'm really hard not to show anyone.
Now that I'm reading all these threads I really wish I'd done things differently on the application..
Oh well, nothing to do now except wait for the 21st.
