Attending Georgetown Summer Institutes

Hi, I'm attending the American Politics and National Security and Counter Intelligence institutes. Anyone else going or have experience with either of these programs or the institutes in general? Thanks!

Hi! I attended the Georgetown summer broadcast journalism institute last summer and it was absolutely amazing! I met people I now consider some of my best friends. My program was not incredibly rigorous but it was very engaging. You quickly become accustomed to te campus and where your classes are, and you will likely go on some field trips. It definitely helped me decide that I want to apply to Georgetown and pursue a career of broadcast journalism. Hopefully your institute will do the same!

Great, thank you! Quick question: how much free time (afternoon/evening) did you have? Are there mandatory nightly events or just down time. Thanks again!

There wasn't a lottt of free time.. We had lectures in the morning afternoon and night so there were periods in the afternoon before dinner and after the night lecture where you had free time.. Probably 2 or 3 hours total. As for mandatory night activities, the only night activities we had besides lectures were a baseball game and a dance, neither of which were mandatory. Hope this helps!

Hi, I'm going to the Broadcast Institute this year and was wondering what I should expect? Also, what kind of dress code there is and what are some of the events we might be doing?
