Bank of American Student Leaders Program Internship

Has anyone heard of or participated in the Bank of America Student Leaders Program Internship? They pick a couple high schoolers in an area to participate in a paid internship at a local non-profit organization. I applied and got it and I thought it was going to be pretty cool. But it turns out that I'm interning at the YMCA...
I have no interest in exercise/fitness. The stuff I am doing for this involves being in the sun all day, which I hate, and watching kids run back and forth. It's so boring and I am so miserable. So my question is, is this worth it? Sure, "paid internship" sounds good on a resume but has anyone had any experience with this program? Is it worth my wasting two months of my summer being miserable? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone done this/know of someone who did it? The website doesn't go into too much detail about what you would be doing in the internship? I'm assuming that it is the rest of the summer following the conference but I'm not sure?

Anybody have more info?

I'm trying to do this program too. I've been trying to do research on the web but the only substantial information I have is from the site itself which is very vague and a couple posts on this site.
I heard that only 5 people can get in for each city. Is this true? I would like to know what my chances are realistically so I know if I need a back up plan for this summer. I have done extensive community service, have good grades, and I've had jobs.
Also, the application is pretty extensive. There's a 1000 word cap on each of the eight required questions. Am I really supposed to write that much? Does it matter if I do, as long as my response are good? The deadline for the application is this friday, so I'd like to know soon.
Finally, is this on a first come first serve basis?
Sorry for all the questions!!! It sounds like an awesome opportunity, but I really want some more feedback!!!

It's actually a 1000 character cap.
Which is like... nothing.

I applied for this program too. What really annoys me, besides the vagueness about the actual program itself, is the utter lack of a date at which to expect admission letters >.<

However, it really does sound like an awesome opportunity and a great way to get involved in the community, and yea, only 5 per city =]
