I applied for the 2013 spring session too! Nobody seems to be talking about athletics, and those are my biggest ECs, seeing as they take up at least 14 hours a week, 10 months a year for me. Do they count much for this program?

For people who have gotten in, what did your extracurriculars and grades look like?

| Senate Page Fall 2012
Not sure about the summer, but I applied for the Fall 2012 semester and I've been told the Page school needed the fall page names by July 23rd. My senator's office said to expect an answer around the first week in July. So I wait.
Anyone out there applying for Fall 2012?

sdl2014, I applied through the office of Robert Menendez (NJ) and the application due date for his office is not until July 2nd. I am not sure why it is so late... Senators are able to sponsor pages based on Seniority, so Kay Bailey Hutchison should have a good chance of sponsoring a page for the fall. Hopefully we will hear soon. Good luck! I hope we are both sponsored!!!!!!!

Thanks! I am nervously awaiting a response...That deadline does seem pretty late. However, Senator Hutchison's office didn't even have a fall deadline, only summer session deadlines. Luckily, I sent my application in then! Good luck! I really hope we hear good news soon!

I'm headed to D.C. this fall! My senator's office called yesterday to tell me I've been appointed. I was told the dates for the fall semester are September 10th - January 25th. Has anyone else gotten good news yet? I'm coming from Houston, Tx and am so excited to meet the new pages.

Congratulations!!!!! I just came back from my time as a US Senate Page a few weeks ago. You'll love it!!!! Words can't describe how amazing the experience is!!! Here's a few tips: they aren't kidding when they say you need to memorize the senators before you get there. There is an actual test on it. You have to recognize the senators by face, name, state, and party. Don't worry, it's not as hard as it sounds. Also, do NOT carve your name on the cabinet. You'll see what I mean when you get there. A girl in my class got in huge trouble for it. The proctors at Webster are great... if you stay on their good side. Make sure you are on time to the minute. If you end up needing to work past curfew (and you will at some point) wait at least 15 minutes for the proctor on duty to go to bed/the office. I suggest buying a long distance phone card before you get there. You can buy an 800 min card for like $15. You can buy them at webster but it's only 100 min for $5. Bring some headphones and an iPod. All of my fellow pages were great but there are times when you just need to take a breather from all of the noise. Oh, and bring Advil (they'll let you keep it in your room)! Don't forget to bring stamps, envelopes, etc. Put your name in all of your uniforms. We ended up sharing washing machines for our uniforms and some people didn't write their names on them so it got a bit confusing. If you bring a laptop, you'll have to go elsewhere to get internet. We always went to a coffee shop called Ebenezers about 4 blocks away from Webster to get internet. If you have any questions message me! I would love to answer them-- it gives me an excuse to reminisce haha. Good luck! It can get exhausting at times but it's so rewarding

Hi I'm Andrew and I'm from Florida!
I'm really interested in doing this program but does anyone know if there has been a Sentate page from Florida recently?? Also, does anyone have a course book for the page school? I won't be able to do this program till 2014 but I like planning ahead.
Thank you!
Ps CONGRAZ sdl2004!!! Best of luck this fall in Washington D.C.

hey Florida guy. Um there is a big map in the page school basement with pins on the origin of each page from the past several years, and I'm pretty sure there were very few, if any, from Florida. Because of that I'd recommend you also apply to some out of state senators, as well as the majority leader.
