Hi, I'm looking to apply for the page program in the summer. But, I can't find any information about it on my senator's website. How do I get that information? Do I send an email from the contact form on his website or do I call his office?

One of my senators isn't planning on sponsoring any pages in the near future. And the other has been such a pain to communicate with, I have already had to call several times today because of several issues with me gathering any information at all. I finally got transfered to the voicemail of the person in charge of the page program, but I havent gotten a call back. I don't know if I will ever get a response. Is it possible to get sponsored by a senator that is not from my state?

rizzle19 who are you trying to apply through? Plus how did you get transferred to the person in charge of the program because i need to ask them questions about the page school. My school (a private catholic school) wants to talk to the person and see if the credits there matches before i can start applying.

@southflorida and @rizzle
First, to answer southfloridas question. Any specific questions about the page school should be directed to Mrs. Kathryn Weeden principal of the Senate Page School she will answer any questions you have about credits. Also, it is possible to have a senator form a different state sponsor you.

@rizzle, yes you definitely can! I called dozens of senators' offices asking if I could apply and hit tons of roadblocks. But eventually I got the call from Senator Reid's office telling me I got selected. And I live in Maryland! Neither of my senators were sponsoring pages, even though they are part of the majority party. Basically, keep trying and don't give up. You might get lucky through persistence.

For anyone wondering, my counselor spoke to the principal, the courses they offer are calculus, physics, government/history, and composition(english), and they have tutors for foreign languages. They're really flexible about making it work with your high school so that you're able to avoid any long term issues.

Also does anyone know what the deal with cell phones is? Are we allowed to keep them while we're there? Someone said to bring an iPod, but my iPhone is my iPod...so I'm just wondering.
