Nope, the application essays have remained the same, I'm pretty sure of that. We actually haven't received the final evaluations, they should becoming within the next few weeks. From what we've heard though, they're supposed to be about half a page from each professor and they're supposed to be supplemental letters of rec for college apps.

Good luck to those applying. I did MITES 2004 (seems so long ago!) and I just finished undergrad at Stanford. If you do well at MITES you'll probably get into every college you apply to. I know more than a couple students my year this was true for...

As far as I know, anybody can apply, but it's very, very tough to get in.

i think that since the math courses are all calculus, pre-calc would be a perquisite.

PreCalc isn't listed as a requirement per say but it is almost a necessity because the lowest math class at MITES is Calculus and you probably should be taking PreCalc junior year if you plan to apply to schools like MIT.

@Sadahila: You can apply, though it is harder for asians to get in. We did have some this past year though, so there is hope.

do all applicants need to have taken some kind of standardized tests like the psat, or something. And how would it affect your chances at getting in?

@sstewart
you definitely need to take a standardized test. either the sat, psat, or act. they ask for it in the app.

Do you need a 240 PSAT accompanied with a 2400 SAT to get accepted? My grades are fairly well but my tests scores aren't exactly the best in the bunch.

Any comments?
