yes. asians are a minority. probably not in the engineering field. but i think you should still apply.

from what i've read in previous MITES threads, asians get accepted into the program as well (but they're usually low income).

DEFINITELY apply. There's no hurt in applying. Asians do get in though there were a grand total of 3 1/2 for MITES 09. (1/2 because one was half latino and half asian)
I applied thinking that I wouldn't get in since I was asian but I did and MITES has been the best (thought not always) summer of my life

Well the app is available in October. You need to send in the PSAT scores or sat. When do you think it's a good time to send the app. The deadline in feb 1

I haven't taken my PSAT or SAT yet, is that bad? I'm going to be a junior this year and want to apply for MITES! Can I still take them in time before app. deadline?

Nahh, MITES is definately better!(Although I would be thankful if I got accepted into either program) I wish ppl who attended MITES this year would share some stories for hopefulls. I can't believe I get to apply in only a few months, I have been waiting for this chance forever!!
