Congratulations to you all, and I am pretty jealous that you get to go to Germany!
One of my friends from school got in and is attending, so I'll meet you all this summer when I visit! @jess, I looked at the facebook group and your profile, we have five mutual friends already!

hey guys, i got in too! For those of you who don't know where to find it on the CCLE website: log in, then click on HSSRP Application Files. Scroll to the bottom and there should be a text box under "Submission Feedback".
Not sure if I'll be attending yet, but congrats to everyone else who got in!

Wow, congratulations Kevin! Dang, that's a difficult program to get in. I think a few people from my school applied, but didn't have any success. But I'm so happy that it all worked out for you! :]

I'm not sure if you're asking about HSSRP or JPL. I don't know what goes on at the spaceSHIP :P but I can tell you that HSSRP is just as amazing! I worked in a Materials Science and Engineering lab, working with polymer light-emitting diodes. My roommates analyzed earthquake data from buildings in Turkey and studied head trauma in mice. What I think HSSRP would have over JPL is the exposure to different fields of science and engineering that you wouldn't necessarily find there. Every week, we hear from different faculty members as well as fellow HSSRPers on what is happening in their respective fields of engineering and about the other students' summer projects. Plus, I don't know if JPL has a residential option or not, but HSSRP obviously provides a unique opportunity - kind of like you're actually working there as a researcher. JPL might have this too, I'm not sure.
all right, so I'm biased toward my program. I'm sure they're both great, and this is just a small glimpse at all of the opportunities at HSSRP!

yea i get what you're saying the whole research vs. internship.
honestly I really wanted to do research, but I don't think I was accepted :/
plus I did a residential program (cosmos) last summer and i wanted to do a residential program again cause idk being away from my parents was just... unbelievably fun.
but I guess im going to spaceship and its not biggy hopefully my project ther will be just as fulfilling.

I'm sorry for not making my question clear. Is JPL a residential program?
And yes I agree HSSRP is an amazing program. I will apply to it again next year. =) Have fun!

Kevin,
Mr. Herrera just sent out the rejection letters so if you haven't heard from HSSRP you should definitely shoot him an email.
