three years later. . . .?

I hope some of you are still on here! My son will have to make this same decision soon as well. Live in NY, Buffalo gave him merit aid, great program etc. Going up to see in a few weeks. Haven't heard from Delaware yet, but got the scholarship letter, so assuming he'll get in, not assuming enough money to compare to Buffalo at all. Are you and your children happy with their decisions to attend Buffalo? And why? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Yes, we (parents and son) are very happy with his decision to attend Buffalo.

Great engineering program
Opportunities for research on campus for son
Obtained internships in engineering (paid) last summer and this summer. Both jobs were a result of the Fall job fair on campus.
Great AP credits awarded though it is of no help to son- many required classes as he is dual engineering major.

Though I'm sure things would have worked out well if my son chose to attend another school, UB was a great fit for him and they have a great engineering program. (Delaware gave him $0 merit by the way and he got a nice merit award form UB!)

I started this thread a few years ago. One engineering student in Buffalo, one in UB. Love them both. As a NY resident I wish the Udel engineer went to UB, the cost is much less even with merit scholarships. 2 fine programs imo. My Udel grad found several of the professors hard to understand due to foreign accents, it seems like that is less of an issue at UB.
