I visited the Stony Brook campus yesterday for the first time in about 25 years. 25 years ago Stony Brook was a complete dump, so hideous that it probably kept prospective students from enrolling. So I was pleasantly surprised, and even shocked to see how nice the place looked. Kudos to whoever was responsible for this wonderful transformation!

Stony Brook's previous president, Shirley Strum Kenny, was largely responsible for the transformation from mud to beautifully landscaped walkways and fountains!
