What does a 3.0 gpa correlate to?

Hi, I'm a freshamn who just finished his fall semester. I'm here on scholarship, and I think you need to maintain a gpa of at least 3.0 in order to keep your scholarship. Approximately what grade does a 3.0 correlate to?

I'm worried because I did amazingly bad on my multivar. test, and I've missed a couple of calc and phys hws. I know I can expect a good/ok grades in chem and BME 100.

Could anyone tell me what a 3.0 is in letter terms? My high school never used the 4 point system.
