New look for Swarthmore's webpage

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but the old swarthmore.com is now swarthmore.edu and with the new, cool look-and-feel.

achat,
Thank you for the alert that this new web site seems to be up and running. In just skimming it for a little while I am once again so proud (even if that sounds hokey!) that my child goes to Swarthmore.

It really looks great, I wish our university's was as easy to navigate.

I'm more excited by the content on the new website. Clearly, a lot of thought has been given to what really makes Swarthmore Swarthmore. For example, putting the list of academic departments on the home page. Or the list of stuff going on in Philadelphia.

I love the new student Insider's Tour on the Admissions page.

And, my favorite is Al Bloom's "President's Welcome" on the About Swarthmore page:

http://www.swarthmore.edu/presidentsoffice.xml

The first two paragraphs really get to the heart of what makes a small undergrad college special -- the interactive learning experience between individual students and facutly members that is invigorating for both.

BTW, here's a link to the design firm, Pentagram, that helped with the viewbook and the website. I'm not sure if this is the connection, but at one time a Swarthmore alum was in Pentagram's San Francisco office:

http://www.pentagram.com/en/offices.htm
http://www.pentagram.com/en/portfolio.htm

Looks like Pentagram also did the websites for MIT and USC:

www.mit.edu
www.usc.edu
