I just called Syracuse today to set up my daughter's audition and they told me that the dates will be posted online on the 15th (friday) and that I would need to register for an audition time through the site. So I guess they aren't setting anymore up over the phone?

I called Syracuse today and re-registered D for the October 20th audition. The fall reception reservation office now understands that there was confusion about the MT auditions. and that they ARE happening on October 20th.
Kaysmom, the regular audition dates are going up on the 15th. The dates Teriwtt and evasmom and I are talking about are technically "fall reception" dates which you can also audition at (except the first one on Oct. 9th) There are two in November plus the October 20th date. You have to call the phone number given on the website for that. Look under "visit" and then "on campus" and you'll see fall receptions. Call that number and you can reserve one of those three dates. Otherwise, you have to wait for the actual Visual and Performing Arts Department website to have actual audition dates which supposedly will be on Sept. 15th.

I called on Monday to ask if my D could visit the college that day and was asked, immediately, if she wanted to do her audition. The woman I spoke with seemed to indicate that they were holding auditions and portfolion reviews (for the fine arts peeps) on that day, as part of the fall reception days. I informed her that my D is only a junior, and we just wanted to visit, and she said that was fine. We will be back for the audition next year at this time ... good luck to those going through it now. Maybe we will run into one another on campus October 20. (I grew up in nearby Camillus, and this will be my first visit home in about 20 years .....)

I am also hoping to audition on October 20th at Syracuse. I haven't signed up yet, but will do so tomorrow hopefully. It would be cool if we all met there!

These are in addition to the three "fall reception" dates when you can also audition. These are the actual drama department days.

Does anyone know if this - " a brief statement describing why they you are choosing a career in musical theater" is in addition to the submitted application? Do you bring this with the headshot and resume?
