SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Syracuse University is locked down while police investigate an off-campus shooting nearby.
Police say the shooting was several blocks away from the upstate New York school. School officials issued an e-mail alert notifying students of the lockdown as a precaution while investigators search for a suspect.
Police say a person was sitting in a parked car when another car drove by and someone opened fire about 11:30 a.m. Monday. It's not clear if the person in the car was hit.
