| Is it a big deal?
I misread the essay instructions, thinking they said they wanted only 1000 characters, when they really asked for 2000 characters. Would they deny admission for something like this?
By the way, my grades and sats are well above temple's averages (3.8 UW and 2230). I just really don't want to be denied from my safety.

I really don't believe it's a big deal. Temple is also a safety for me (3.8 uw gpa 2070 sat). I also probably only wrote 1000 characters and was accepted and offered a 5,000 dollar scholarship per year.

I dont see why TU being a safety for you means you are exempt from following directions, but I wouldn't worry about it.

dionte,
I'm not trying to imply I'm above following Temple University's directions. I was simply trying to make the point that, since my stats were well above average, that my mistake in following directions for the essay would be overlooked.

You essentially just restated my point. Please attend elsewhere. Thanks.

Dionte you are the most closed minded and rude person. I've read some of your other posts in other threads and all you ever do is say go to temple and then argue with people about how other schools suck. Mayfair did not restate your point. Your point was that just because Temple was her safety didn't mean she could just not follow the instructions. Mayfair said that she didn't intend to write only a 1000 characters, but rather she accidently misread the directions. Mayfair may choose to go to college wherever she wants. Maybe you should be somewhere else rather than college because it appears you are not able to comprehend and analyze things.

Do whatever you'd like. I shouldn't impact your decision.

I would think they care more about what you write more then how much you write.

i wouldnt worry. i just got accepted and my essay was barely 1000 characters too (and it was no where near great). my sats are 2040 and acts are 29. theyre giving me 10k a year too so i really dont think you should be stressing it.

what essay was it?
when I applied a few months ago, I was told the essay only needed to be the length of one page. I hope I didn't do it incorrectly. o.o

When I wrote mine I found two different sets of directions one said the length of one page and the other said approximately 2000 characters. You honestly should be fine because I think that they just wanted to say that it should be only a page and should be of average length.
