Admission Review Success Stories

My Son is applying at Texas A&M College Station. He has been accepted to A&M Galveston but really wants to go to College Station. He is in step 3, Application being reviewed. He did poorly on the SAT (awaiting new scores)but is in the top 25% of his class at a large suburban high school that is very competitive His Stats are as follows:

SAT
Math 510
CR 540
Writing 600
Composite 1650

Class Rank Top 25%

ECs
Boys Scouts - Eagle Scout
Marching Band 4 Years (Section Leader)
National Honor Society
Numerous Communtiy Service Hours (100s)
Has had a part time Job for a year and a half
Extremely active in Church youth, Youth Leadership, Youth Praise Band

His intended Major is Wildlife and Fisheries Managment

Anbody out there with low SAT Admission success stories for Texas A&M?

Thanks

I got Accepted in for the spring semester as an incoming freshman on November 23 of this year. I don't have all my exact scores for each category of my SAT, but my overall was a 1510. I didn't have too many extracurriculars, just ranchwork and some interning vet work as a Senior and after HS. In school I was Top 40%, not too great. My major is Animal Science

If I was able to get in with taking a year off from school, then he should get in with flying colors is my guess.

Good luck! Keep us updated!
