Does anyone know the typical gpa for someone that has transferred into the liberal arts college?

I've been told by about 10 people that as long as you have a 3.0 and at least 24 hours then you're in, but if you have like a 2.7 you would need to have a good essay. So to answer your question, I would guess a 3.0+ but I'm just going off of what the advisors and admission office have been telling me.

I hope you're right about the 3.0 and you're in!

Well that's what Don Curtis (Assistant Dean) told me, so I'm trusting him!

i hope this is not true.

"A student must have a 3.0 to be considered for admissions by the College of Liberal Arts. From there it will depend on the applicant pool for that year.

I did. 3.87 GPA w/ 26 credits (calc I, sociology, 2 histories, music appreciation, freshman comp, tech writing, chem I) at the time of my app. Will have Calc II, Phys mechanics, and chem II complete after this semester. Wrote one essay and had one letter of rec from my chem prof (I dont think it matters though, because they dont look at letters of rec?).

Cool. I had a 3.83 i think with every class but chem 2, physics light, mag, and heat, and cal 2. From what you have heard Ampzor what are our chance of getting in with those stats? Hopefully well be meeting up there then

I'd say I (we) have a solid chance of getting in and so does the consoler that I talked to at a Prospective Student Center. (knock on wood) The reason that Im not 100% sure is that chem 2, calc 2, and physics I, arent completed and Im sure they would like to see what we've got. But, if the essays are good and well thought out, then it should bring the chances up. In all, I'd say I have a 75% shot. Although, 75% won't make me sleep any better at night.
