Scholarship Chances?

I'm a senior in high school in Houston, and I'm wondering what type of scholarship money I can expect from Texas A&M. I'm hoping to have tuition covered, so if that is unrealistic, let me know what a more feasible prediction might be. Some of my specs:

SAT: 2380
GPA: 6.2 on a 7-point weighted, top 13% (Still don't understand how to convert to 4-point)
EC: 3 years debate, 3 years tennis, 2 years UIL spelling, 1 year comp. sci. club, 1 year Model UN, 3 years president of Social Philosophical Forum

I'm applying to the business and engineering colleges.

With that kind of SAT, are you a national merit semi-finalist/finalist?

With an insane SAT score like that, shouldn't you be a national merit scholar? Cause with that score you should get a full ride to tons of schools.....

are you sure your scale is a 7 point scale.

we have a max possible 7 points, but the scale is a 6 point scale.

if you are on a 6 point scale your weighted 4.0 gpa is 4.13.

i don't think texas a&m is real generous with scholarship $$ . you will most likely get some from engineering.

like the other posters said, you could get full tuition/full ride at many schools, but i am not sure a&m is one of them.

are you NMSF??

No NMF, unfortunately. Poor testing day and missed the cut-off by one question. Also missed the deadline to be Commended, but A&M doesn't seem to care too much about Commended.

It may not be a 7-point scale. I still haven't figured out how weighted/unweighted GPA work exactly? In on-level classes, an A is worth 6 points. In upper level classes, an A is worth 7 points. Not sure if that would clarify.

I think you have a really good shot of getting a President's Endowed Scholarship, which is $12,000 over four years, and then perhaps some additional money from your college. I'd also apply for the Terry Scholarship too since you don't have to be NMF for that one.

Freshman Scholarships | Honors Programs | Texas A&M University

it sucks that you missed NMF, that would've earned you another ~$38,000 :S
