housing question

ok - i was just looking at the housing website.

my DD has not been accepted yet, so we don't have to worry about this yet, but ...

it says you can apply for housing once you have been admitted and that you can get your money back if you cancel by may 1 (decide to go somewhere else or live off campus) you get the full 300 deposit back.

so, you don't have to actually commit to a&m before you apply for housing???

is this the norm??

You don't even have to commit to A&M even after applying for housing. You'll just lose your $300 deposit if you decide to go to another university. Please note that you'll most likely get temperary to no housing if you apply for housing near the deadline.

I meant that if you changed your mind after May 1 and decide to attend somewhere else. I'm just saying that you just don't have to commit to A&M before or after May 1st. But yes, if you cancel by May 1st, you will get your deposit back.
