how many audition?

Does anyone know approximately how many people make it through the pre-screen process and get a live audition at Texas State???

Not exactly, but if you look at the callback info on the website, you will see that they can accommodate 40 slots on each of the 4 on-campus dates and 54 slots on each of the 2 Chicago Unified days (but that would mean going 9 hours with no break, so maybe 50 per day in Chicago is more realistic); so 160 on campus and 100 at Unifieds for a total of 260. They are looking for about 12 per class.

I was there last year for Acting there were about 42 for drama and over 100 for MT.

typecast - this is audition information from the current MT site.

momamarino - The audition process evolves every year so when looking at schools, you need to look at the current year's info as last year's may be outdated. 3 years ago, prescreens were almost non-existant; 2 years ago, a handful of schools were doing prescreen; last year, many schools required prescreens; this year, it is very prevalent; before long, it will be the standard...

Oh I know that....since my D got a live audition with Texas State we're just just wondering if anyone had a ballpark idea as to how many other people would be competing for the coveted few spots at Texas State that's all.

Thank you!!!! We're just really disappointed that we can't do the on-campus audition in December because she is in a show during that time. So we'll have to wait until Chicago Unifieds. Would have been nice to go to Texas in December for a little break from the Pacific Northwest weather at that time of the year!!

I can't speak for exactly how many audition, but (like do-what-u-luv said) I'm pretty sure they look for around 12 students in each class (12 acting / 12 MT).

My D attends TSU. Last year 600 applied and 12 were accepted. While Kaitlin and Jim are very demanding, they are also very nurturing. Good luck to all!

FYI - There were 33 at yesterday's on-campus audition.

To livelaughlove123: Nice to hear from a fellow Pacific NW person going to Chicago! I really wish we could have done more on-campus auditions but just not in the picture. Is your son just doing Unifieds or were you able to go to on-campus auditions too? What schools are on his list? Maybe our kids know each other.....seems the drama world is smaller than we think!

Here's another Pacific NW going to Chicago. My daughter is audition for TSU also.
