Does anybody know how many designers, playwrights, directors, technical/production, and stage management students any of these schools offer admission to?

SMU told us they take 12-15 in each of BFA Acting and BFA Theatre Studies. I don't know how many audition.

| Minnesota/Guthrie acceptance?
Hi, does anyone know how many students Minnesota/Guthrie accepts to yield their Freshman class of 20? Do they waitlist? I believe I've heard they invite 60 to their call-back weekend, so I am trying to deduce how many are actually accepted. Even if they only accept 20 of those 60, a 1 out of 3 chance is pretty good in this business! Thanks!

A friend who got a call back said that she was told that 45% would be accepted out of the call back pool. That would be 27.

Yes, once you get to the callback weekend, you have a darned good chance (compared to the odds going into the first audition) of being accepted.

I believe Minnesota only accepts 20 and then has a waitlist to replace girls with girls and boys with boys. My daughter was at callbacks last year and said around 60 were invited back. She made some very good friends that weekend.

I noticed CMU is listed as having 18 acting. The CMU website lists the current students in each of the School of Drama disciplines. 2008-2009 freshman started with 14 in acting (9 men/5 women). There are 12 MT's. The sophomore class has 17 acting and 10 MT. The junior class has 16 acting and 10 MT. The senoir class is the largest 20 acting and 11 MT. Each class has more men than women. Some of these individuals may have left the program. I don't think they update the website when individuals leave the program. As we know every program/college /university has people who leave for a variety of reasons.
