To give you an idea, Towson splits them into "categories" like I A, I B, I C, I D, II A, IIC , IIC2.... everything from lab sciences to health classes to history classes. There really are a lot of required courses. Thankfully, though, they offer some interesting ones and a few gen eds can be applied to your major (like psyc 101 for a psych major or an advanced writing course for a major).
