So, is it just me or has Northwestern's prestige been growing steadily the past ten years or so? I was young of course then, but I never remember Northwestern being in the top 12 or compared with some of the Ivies as it is today. (I am from Chicago suburbs, maybe that makes a difference? Did people in other regions see Northwestern as great as it is today?)
@monacle Yeah, I lived in Evanston from when I was 7 to 10 years old, and I don't remember it being so "big". I had a nanny that went to Northwestern, and she was a nice girl and pretty smart, but I can't imagine she would be accepted today...
Northwestern has one of the best econ programs in the country and is recruited for investment banking (my aspiring career field). Not to mention it's a 15 minute drive from my house and I absolutely love the location!
Definitely a combination of McCubs and Bears' posts, closer to home (West Suburbs), and Northwestern has so much more than my current school does. (We only have one [expletive] econ professor! and he's leaving next year!) Not to mention, the second city is a great place.
