Didn't see one posted so I figured I'd start one.

HS:
3.94 UW GPA
Top 6% class rank
29 ACT

Tier 1 university (after 1 quarter):
3.88 GPA
Took 5 classes (2 of them being honors classes)
University honors program
University honors accounting program

Volunteer work: Arizona Attorney General's Office, Inspiration Corporation (Chicago)
Work experience: 12 months at a movie theater, 5 months at Discover Financial Services
Awards: Dean's Scholar award recipient, Arizona Academic Scholar, Honor roll (all 4 years of high school)
Clubs/Organizations: Frosh and JV football, Member of Assyrian-Chaldean-Syriac Student Movement (Chicago), school's honors student government, PricewaterhouseCoopers honors program, accounting club, and the Midwestern association of Hispanic accountants (I'm not Hispanic but the club doesn't require one to be)

Although I'm currently an Econ/Accounting major, I plan on changing my second major to math.

Any others applying to NU for the upcoming fall quarter?

    Yes.

I had a bunch of schools that I was applying to and their deadlines were on Jan 1, So I decided to turn them all in considering how busy I get during the year. Why do you ask?

Just wondering. Did you apply for the spring quarter?

Okay, my stats are definitely a bit lower than both of yours, but I still hope that I have a chance!!

Transferring from the University of Missouri (Journalism) with at 3.7 GPA after one semester.
College ECs: I work as a production assistant for the local NBC affiliate, also in Magazine Club, and member of floor and hall government.

    27 ACT
    3.4 HS GPA
HS EC:Two year dance captain of show choir (in show choir for three years total), captain of color guard (member for four years), four years of choir, four years of drama club, thirteen years of Girl Scouts, three years of Tri-M Music Honor Society.

Does anyone know what the admission rate for Medill is??

^Not sure but I believe it's around 30% for all transfers.

    ChicagoBears1:

    1) I am applying for Fall 2011 Admissions.
    2) Do you think I have a pretty good shot for transfer admissions to CAS Econ? It's my first choice and honestly dream school!
    3) Hope you like Cutler... He's my favorite player in the NFL. Left Denver the year I got there for college.

incogneato - I believe you're a very competitive applicant. Regarding Cutler, I think he has all the talent in the world but I'm skeptical of his decision-making. I'm rather surprised since he went to Vandy. You would think he would be smarter eh?

    Gotcha, thanks @chicagobears1!!

    @ChicagoBears1:

Yes, Cutler's decision making abilities are hit or miss. He either looks like a pro bowler or non-league worthy (last year). Regardless, he is still my favorite player! Hoping that if I end up at NW, I can bring my jersey to games!

On a separate note, what is transfer financial aid like? NW states that they are Full need met, so is cost of attendance just COA-EFC= Aid? I've heard from some that FA at NW is not full need me? Any comments would be great.

How much value do you guys think an ACT score has on whether or not NU will admit you into the communications program? I had a 3.8 in highschool with NHS, Spanish Honors Society, and editor of our newspaper. At the University of Illinois, I finished a year and a half with a 3.75. I intern at a sports website and I've worked for the Big Ten Network. I'm also in the honors program. I'm a HORRIBLE standardized test taker though.

^It's not weighted as heavily if you're a rising junior.

Hey Guys I'm also trying to transfer to NU this upcoming fall:

    HS:
    3.5/4.0
    24 ACT
Extras: homecoming/turnabout/prom court, captain of the golf team, student leadership.

    College:
    Univ of Iowa
    3.4/4.0
Extras: All conference golfer, dean's list, athletic directors honor roll, honors program

I'm also Cuban so hopefully that helps, recently my parents have gotten ill so I have come home and NU is only 30 minutes away from home.

I wish my ACT would have gone a little better but it's my dream school so I thought I'd give it a shot!
