Hi there, I am a freshman film student applying to the SCA. I was just wondering if a 3.72 GPA in the Syracuse film program stacks up well for the Film & Television Production program. At my school a full-time student is defined as someone who takes 12 credits (4 classes), I am taking 18 credits (6 classes) each term. I have not received SGR and my Spring GPA will be 3.5+. I had A's and a few B's in high school and got a 1930 on the SAT.

So if your first sem GPA wasnt up to USC standards, would they reject you directly or ask for your spring grades?

Jw because my first semester GPA turns out to be a 3.2 - obviously WAY below avg!!! But I am applying as a communications student and hope that they see my 2 A's were in Journalism and Film (media-based? idk?). I was also abroad that semester so I dont know if they'll understand that it was my first semester EVER in college so I had a hard time transitioning.

And now my current semester so far I have 4 solid A's and one A- so I think my GPA will jump up very drastically if I keep this up and can bring up that A- to an A.

depends, are you a sophomore transfer? If you are then they'll determine if your spring grades are worth looking at through your high school record.

Anyone have an answer to my previous post?

Quote:
Hey guys, my status changed to "need more information" however what I "need" to submit is "Final HS Transcript w/ Grad Date" however I already submitted this information and my high school transcript shows on my "received documents" - twice even (because I also applied out of highschool), but apparently they want it again? that's super weird. They've gotten it twice. What do I do?

the wait is getting so bad that I'm reading transfer threads from 2009 and 2010. some SGRs go out this week, right? I think last year and 2010 a few acceptances came out this week as well

^ Dont people only get those boxes after admission? I remember that being a way to check before the letters were sent out.

So, I'd love to go to USC but I've heard mixed things about their fin aid for transfers. Does anyone. know? Are they known to give very little or not? What about need based? Merit?
