Ugh this is dreadful; just reading about the amount of applications that they had to go through makes me want to puke. Lol, I think it's time for me to hang my coat and move on at this point. Assuming U.S.C. has already chosen it's admitted transfers, then I have a the slightest feeling that I probably didn't get in; doubts set aside, I'm definitely glad I was able to be part of this thread! It was quite the roller coaster |

well i hope i get in so i can visit the campus and california. i've never visited USC or California before. Heck I've never visited that side of the country. haha But the longer I wait the more stuff I try to look up and videos I watch and it makes me even more excited to go which is making me more anxious in waiting for any good news. |

@slowstuff Applied to CalPoly Pomona and got accepted into the arch program. I think wherever destiny does decide me to take, I'll be satisfied. Both CPP's and USC arch programs are excellent and I'm just glad (so far) I got at least into one of them )
Edit: I also forgot to add that I applied to Cal Poly SLO too, lol. I was instantly rejected in the first portion of the application process for arch. It must have been my G.P.A or something; from what I heard the average G.P.A. for an incoming transfer there is about 3.90~ or so
I believe your major is architecture also? Where have you applied?

@italian yeah CPP does have an excellent program! I dont think I met the GE requirements there. So its either USC or Woodbury at this point. I received awesome financial aid from Woodbury so the world is not over if I am not to be a trojan!
and I am glad you have a positive attitude with this.

@slowstuff with the budget cuts going towards CCC's, I definitely wouldn't be surprised if anyone was even close to completing the GE's. I'm still not completely done with the GE's myself but I was at least able to complete the Golden Four. The classes here at my CC are getting way too competitive (in terms of registration), I've even heard one story of a student sabotaging another student's registration just to get out of the wait list! It's just too crazy.. I think the only reason why I have such a positive outlook on where I attend (regardless of being USC or not) is because I'm finally transferring out 2 years ago this was far from what I thought was possible (especially with my 2.0 high school G.P.A.)

@italianpnoy112: good point!
i'm kind of glad I applied this year.. CC's have been getting hard to get classes and parking.. tuition is going up yet summer/winter classes are getting cancelled and classes are getting cut too.. also I read on the news that Cal State's (ALL Cal States I believe?) will be freezing admission in the Spring, so that only means if they can't apply to Cal States,
1) more people will be enrolling in CC's > more crowded
2) more people will be applying to USC/UC's > more selective > more competitive
(USC switched to common app this year, so i'm pretty sure more word will get around and thus more pool applicants than this year which was already a record high for USC)
+ there will be more budget cuts in the UC's so less spaces for class/enrollment
+ also since classes are getting harder to add, it will take a transfer student longer to transfer out.. especially if it's a semester based CC because that means half a year delay already for one class
+ there has been an exponential increase in the amount of high school seniors going to CC for transfer to four year colleges because of financial reasons + less competitive at CC + supposedly "easier to transfer" than applying right out of high school
the good thing about USC is that it's private so the budget cuts don't directly affect USC classes/housing/financial aid :P plus USC offers better financial need based aid.. than the UC's
it just occured to me that each year, universities will be getting more selective with budget cuts and because of this more students will be applying to more schools and that just means more competition..

@italianpnoy112: Awww I'm sorry to hear that, but Cow Poly Pomona (a nickname my tour guide told us when I toured there in like...10th grade :P) is an amazing school, you'll have a blast there! Oh! And their Subway was voted one of the best in the country because they use veggies grown on their own campus. My sub was damn good...damn good :').
I wish I remembered more besides Subway from there, lmao. xD

oh, so i think i finally have a clarification of the stats for admission this year. so apparently USC admission directly stated:
"We received nearly 46,000 applications from first-year students, 24% more than last year. We offered fall admission to about 8,400 students, and we expect roughly 2,650 students will accept our offer."
my package said out of more than 41,000, you were selected to be a a part of 2650 diverse, blah blah blah ...
i don't know why they even put that on my package when they offered about 8,400 students for admission (not sure if its freshman, transfer or a combination of both for admission). o_o I guess it's because they expect only 2,650 to actually accept the offer based on previous year's statistics
I think this clarifies everything for everyone. Hopefully this is helpful for you guys
here is a link for the article from admissions: If it seems easy, you’re not doing it right Undergraduate Admission Blog

wow the admission blog post is really interesting to read. it gives insight on the process of candidacy, what stood out most to me is that they actually compare you to all those who applied o_o.. i thought the process was individually holistic..
"We read, calculate GPAs, write notes, click and scroll through student files, weighing and comparing, all on behalf of those who applied. We are also sad. As we began reading, we met many outstanding students. But at the finish, we must make difficult, even painful decisions. We take the role of advocate very seriously, so when we realize we must bid farewell to many perfectly suitable candidates, we get a little cranky. We have a saying around the office: if it seems easy, you’re not doing it right."

So Yesterday my enrollment deposit box appeared, and this morning it went back to application status check, but I still have the status of the freshman april 1st! should i be worried! i'm really nervous now!!
Could it be that they put the deposit box up prematurely?... why do they mess with my head!

@sielburt
It wasn't, it said not authorized.
But Someone posted that they also had that but then it changed to prefilled. So I assume it would've changed.
Should I bother to call the school?
