I only got a payment confirmation from common app and a package in the mail stating that USC has received my information. Does USC generally send emails too? Because they haven't sent me anything

Marshall Kids: Last year there was someone who got in with a 3.4. Just another example that it's not the numbers, it's the person.

I PERSONALLY know someone who got into Marshall with a 3.0 and another with a 3.4 GPA. It's really not just about the numbers.

^ I'm pretty those were all exceptions, otherwise Marshall's average GPA would be a lot lower.

It still doesn't mean that people shouldn't aim to get the best damn grades possible.

True gousc, I always aim to get an A, but finals suck sometimes. Finals always drop or bring me uP!

how many units have you completed? Honestly, it's all in the air, depending on your EC's and essays

3.86 GPA (one B, all A's) with about 52 units applying as a sophomore for Mechanical Engineer to Viterbi. What are my chances? (assuming my ECs are average)

I say this with respect but I believe you guys are wasting your time with the chance me questions/answers.

At the end of the day, none of us are qualified to give input on admission decisions. What works for one applicant might be a disadvantage for another. I can tell you my essays are excellent but they might come off arrogant to the Adcoms. As you can see there are too many variables to accucurately predict an applicant's chances. It even states in the letter from USC something how the discussions are lively and admissions are hollistically.

Either way, you guys already applied. Wait it out. A reaffirmation from a random person is not going to expediate the process. Best of luck to everyone.
