I'm trying to transfer out of American University too!

I am from New Jersey, and I have yet to hear back...

Nothing seems to be consistent except for the inconsistency.

Congratulations to all of those who have been accepted!

Hey everyone, I just found I got in! The letter was sent to my house in MA. I am so happy because I absolutely hate the university I attend right now and was waitlisted at Vanderbilt last year. Best of luck to all of you! xx

Accepted!

Economics/math major, 2180 SAT, 3.75 GPA, 6-month full-time work experience at a financial company, Resident Assistant, English writing tutor, international student (though transferring from a US college).

I'm in Mass right now. Oh, and I did get that fake admission e-mail. Wondering if there's some correlation after all.

Blah...wait-listed. I live right outside of Washington, D.C and received the envelope today. Here are my stats:

Institution: William & Mary and another institution--my GPA is split
Applying as: Sophomore, Math major
College GPA: 3.94, sent in all As for mid-term report.
SATs: 2250 SAT I - 680 CR, 780 M, 790 W 12 Essay; 770 Math II, 710 U.S. History

Comments, Concerns, Thoughts: I'm bummed...thought I had a good chance. I read on Vandy's website that it reserves the right to practice "need-aware" admissions, meaning one's ability to pay will be factored in the admissions decision. I have a rather low EFC--less than $5,000--so maybe that played a role in today's unfortunate news? Oh well...best of luck to all--I hope everyone receives good news (unlike me, lol)!

Doesn't Vanderbilt take pride in their completely need-blind admissions process? I've heard that and read that several times both officially and unofficially. One of the top administrators at Blair (the music school) told parents at the reception dinner that financial aid wouldn't be even looked at until the student was accepted. I hope I don't get shafted because of my financial aid. My FAFSA score is less than 300...
