YalieGirl, I also got the e-mail, though it was more like two weeks ago for me.

Hey do any of you guys know if it is harder to transfer from a community college honors program than a 4 year. Are they less likely to accept you?

This question has been bugging me!

@mattymark: Well the fact that you're doing an honors program at community college really helps. It really depends on your GPA, really.

I am applying for Fall quarter...but it seems that @anontransfer has a point that it is easier to stand out among the few applicants.

What is everyone's current stats/ hs stats? I am very worried, being that I received a low ACT score.

@mattymark YES! I did not realize I could have while at a community college (I am at sophomore standing). Now, it is too late for me to do so. So YES! Definitely retake it. They only look at the best score. I wish I had known that last year!

@mattymark Yes you can, but I would do it sooner than later.

I can no longer take it because the deadline for NU is in TWO weeks. I would have needed to take it earlier this year or last year to have my scores submitted in time.

Is anyone else stressing over the NU app due in two weeks?!

Hmm, I would say don't waste your time retaking the SAT/ ACT becuase your score probably isn't going to get much higher, that's just the way it is. You tend to make around the same scores on those tests. Take it from me, I had to learn the hard way.

The best thing for you to do is focus on your college GPA. They want to see how you're doing now. And they will really be impressed with the progress you've made since high school; positive trends always look really good.

@ chicagolak23: Umm, not really stressing. Maybe I will once the waiting game begins, but other than that, nope, not stressing. All I know is that I've done my best this year, and if I don't get in this time, well better luck next time around. I'm already preparing to spend another semester at y current instution (signed up for Fall 2012 classes and submitted financial aid items).

My hope isn't hinging on NU because it's more than likely I won't get in, but I'm prepared to apply again next semester if I have to.

Try not to get too stressed about it.

@CluelessBelle Are you a current student at NU? Or perhaps a prospective student?

And as far as my current grades, I have done very well, 3.9 GPA. I am involved in my school's newspaper, Treasure for the Activities Board, involved in the volunteer program, as well as am a member of Phi Theta Kappa (Honors).

I also graduated from my HS in the top 10th percentile of my class and an Illinois State Scholar. So I have done well throughout my years, however, my ACT is a 22. I know NU strongly takes standardized tests into consideration. This is a serious concern of mine and almost making me not go forward with the app, even though I have come this far in the application process.
