Just wondering - when and how did you you guys receive notification of your financial aid status? E-mail, e-portal, post..? With the official 'admission package?'

Aren't they supposed to notify you of a decision (yes or no) by June 15th?!

Jess sent me an email on June 14, asking me if I would like to wait until the end of June.

Has anyone heard back about housing? I got an email from the financial aid office telling me that the housing department is "unable to confirm" that I'll get housing, and then they gave me a new (and somehow worse) financial aid package.

I'm a little annoyed because I called housing a couple of months ago expressing concern for the limited space they have for transfers, and they told me "don't sweat it" and that they've had few problems accommodating transfers in the past.
I live in Georgia. If they can't even give me some sort of rat's nest in which to sleep, I don't think I can go to Barnard.

Have you considered living off-campus? If you share with a roommate, you can easily save thousands of dollars compared to the housing Barnard offers.

I spoke with the housing department, and it's not looking too good for transfers. I'm probably going to wind up sharing an apartment in the Morningside Heights area.

Do you think housing would be available for transfers in the spring?

this is awful. How do they expect to inform us in mid-August about housing (and if there is none) find an apartment in under two weeks! crazy ! Hoping that being from California will help me get housing!

Housing really said it doesn't look too good for transfers? What the heck, they have a whole building for transfers. This is crazy. What are we supposed to do if there is no housing available 2 weeks before school starts?!

I think they typically reserve two floors in Elliott for transfers

They typically get 80 transfer students every year. If they only reserve 2 floors of Elliott that means 23 people per floor (not including the RA), then 46 transfer students total. There must be more than that when they know 80 come in every year! Otherwise half the girls get screwed! Ugh I'm freaking out now
