Hi all,
I posted this on the USC forum, but it seems much more lively here.
Specifically, wondering if anyone has successfully transferred into the OT BS/MS program that they offer. I requested information for the normal 2 yr MS program, and found myself preferring their program overall to other universities that I've looked.
I need to retake a stats class because I believe I may have taken the wrong one. Plus I got a C+ in it (.10 off from a B-) and USC requires a B-. I also need to take a few psych courses. I have an app lined up with adviser to figure out ones my current university has.
Looking for any information on stats (if you applied, or know someone)
Here are my current stats:
3.12 gpa (combined from two universities) upward trend, and maintaining that this semester
Member of Kinesiology Undergrad Organization (volunteer with them)
Kinesiology Major
Work for Physical Activity Lab at a Senior Center [basically maintain the fitness room, conduct health assessments, and help the seniors, pretty much I work by myself but the director of center (not my boss) said only positives have been said about me. One of the better workers that my university has sent them in a long time]
For a little uniqueness I've had 3 concussions (possibly 4 which is from a recent auto accident) So I've been dealing with the affects of those for about 7 years total
What I could work on is getting a leadership position although I had one in high school (captain of volleyball team), and at a previous job I trained new workers even though I was officially trained to do that. The bosses just loved that I could stay calm, and work with whatever they gave me.
Thank you!

| GE Requirements?
I'm hoping to apply this fall to USC as a business major. Are the GE classes they have listed required or recommended? I'm talking about the ones with the roman numerals, and if they are required what if they are not the exact course numbers as the ones they listed but still fall under that category?

Hi everyone!
I'm looking to transfer into USC and I'm currently attending UCR. I was wondering if there was anyone that transferred from a UC to SC in 1 year?
Also, any advice on the personal statements?
Thanks!

Does it look better if you finish all of the GE requirements than if you do just 2, like category I & II only? What about the foreign language and the diversity requirement?

What if I don't have any of those GE requirements done for when I apply this fall, because I plan on taking them this spring semester? Does that look bad?

I need advice!
I have a feeling my chances are really low, but I'd love to hear your opinions and suggestions!
So this is my situation:
I really want to get out of community college and transfer to a university by Fall 2013. I was looking towards USC or UCI, but right now I don't have enough units to transfer to a UC so I can only apply to USC this year.
I just started my second year (third semester) of college.
After my first year (two semesters) I completed 38 units and received a 3.7 GPA. All units are transferable BUT sadly, none satisfy GE requirements (except English).
Right now I'm only going to school part time (seven units) so by the end of this semester I'll only have a total of 45 units.
Next semester (spring 2013) I'll be sure to take only classes that satisfy GE requirements.
My SAT scores were okay and my GPA graduating high school was a 3.4.
I currently work two jobs, I volunteer at a children's hospital, I'm active in my church, and I moved to California on my own after high school (if any of that information matters).
Oh and another thing that I know will lower my chances of getting accepted. I have ONE W. I had to drop my Calculus I class ):
I know technically next year if I go to USC I'll be a junior, but unit wise I'd be considered a sophomore because I know by the end of Spring 2013, I won't have 60 units.
I'm planning on applying as an undeclared major, but I'm thinking of kinesiology or biological science.
I actually want to finish my GE and start on my major classes at USC. I really don't want to take them at a CC.
Should I still apply or? What should I do?

I just read in last years thread that none of the school forms are required. Can anyone confirm/deny? Official USC 2012 Transfer Thread |

The GEs I believe are not required, just recommended. I think with a 3.7 you have a solid chance of getting in.
Your choice whether you want to do some GEs in CC first or not. Quote: |

| I don't think so.
For my question...
Do you guys think that it will have a huge impact if I get a B in my Math honors calc 2 class? I have a 4.0 right now and with that B ill have a ~3.85 with about 32 units completed. I am applying for Electrical engineering so I am worried.

Emprex- I think that is correct. According to page 3 on the USC Supplement Instructions, you do not need to send the common app college official's report, you just directly send your grades to USC. http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergr...Common_App.pdf
And to those that are worried about transfer credits, the best advice I think is to check the articulation page/history for your school and to send your advisor an email listing your courses. It's also a great way to establish a connection with your USC advisor!

@yakooza your GPA would still be high enough for you to be considered a competitive applicant, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Could you still take the recommended accounting classes during the summer, or do they have to be taken during the fall and spring semesters?
