How to turn this around

Hey there, coming up on my third year at Syracuse University for Architecture and just now decided that this major is not for me. My dismal GPA of a 2.4 means that I don't have a lot of options out there, I know that. What I do have is a portfolio, a good resume and a couple recommendations. I was thinking of transferring to UTSA (San Antonio) completing 30 hours of course work in another major and then transferring in to UTA. My only question is that with my already low GPA, getting two semesters of perfect 4.0s at UTSA would only set me at about a 3.1 which is still not good enough to get into UTA. Does anyone have any suggestions? Or am I just pretty much screwed here?
