A simple question about unit limitations

I might want to transfer from one UC to another. By the time I transfer, I will have earned more than 80 unit hours.

So here's my question: Is it impossible to do this? Or will the UC to which I transfer simply not count some of my units toward my final degree?

(By the way, I only just decided on a major this year, so most of my unit hours are for non-major classes.)

Realize that UC to UC transfers are very rare and generally considered AFTER all the California Community College transfer students are accepted. Also, many UCs do not take transfer students who have 4-year college credits if they have accumulated too many credits (somewhere around 80 - 90, depending on the UC). In short, the UCs don't want to deal with high-unit junior or above transfer students from 4-year colleges. (This rule has been rumored to be in the works to be relaxed but I have not seen it take into effect yet.)

You need to ask this on the UC Transfer forum, just one sub-level below this forum.

Thanks for replying. I've re-posted this question under UC Transfers.
