Transferring from a Uni to a CC

After spending a couple months at Florida Gulf Coast University, I've started to consider transferring to my hometown's local CC. I don't like the campus, faculty, or student body here at all and I think I'd benefit both socially and academically by commuting from home to a community college.

The problem is that applications for the Spring 2013 semester open as early as October 29th and my FGCU grades won't be posted until December 17th. The CC's website says that in order to apply I need my complete high school transcripts and my college transcripts, but my semester won't be finished by the application deadline.

Assuming the CC even accepts me without my college transcripts, I don't think I'll be able to apply for classes until my credits transfer. So what do I do? Just take a semester off? The only alternative I can think of is apply for the same gen ed classes I'm already taking and then drop them once my credits transfer, which I guess would work.

I have an appointment set up with my academic advisor this Friday, but I figured this must be a fairly common problem and that somebody here might be able to help.
