Enrolled in classes at two different schools during the same semester

I'm currently a student at a university in Chicago. This will hopefully be my last semester. However, I am currently having some problems in one of my classes and was thinking about dropping it. My local community college has an 8 week class session starting next week. I was wondering is it possible for a student to be enrolled at two different colleges in the same semester and be taking classes at two different schools during the same semester, or is that not allowed?

Can you even get into that class on such short notice? You'd need to enroll first, wouldn't you?

Yes, I can. It's an 8 week session course that begins next week. Enrollment is open right up until the course starts.

You'll probably need a letter of permission from your school to attend, and depending on its policies, you may need that prior to enrollment at the other college (if attending both schools is allowed, that is). Hopefully your administration will work quickly, as it took me at least a week to get all of my paperwork in order at my school. Search "concurrent enrollment" along with your university name to see if anything comes up.
