Transfering to a school you were once accepted into

My son is was accepted to attend BC but opted for a small liberal arts college. Now he would like to apply to BC again as a transfer student. Will the fact that he chose not to attend as a freshman hurt his chances, help his chances or no impact?
Should he contact the admissions person he had met with last year and let her know of his interest in transferring?

I cannot imagine it would hurt his chances. Defiantly talk to an officer if you can.

I know that some schools auto admit transfers who got accepted. I doubt BC does.. but nevertheless, food for thought.
