if you read past threads you'll see that NYU recommended not to retake the SATs during your college period.

Hey everyone. I applied pretty early to NYU and beat the Sandy confusion. My application components have long been checked off. Got an e-mail last Thursday asking for my mid-term grades. My admissions counselor got back to me super quickly. Impatiently waiting! Hopefully decisions come earlier as I already have heard from one of my schools! Good luck!

Damn, lucky you. I don't know if they got my midterm report... and they haven't even checked off my HS report even though it's mid-November already. What are your stats and where do you come from? Are you applying as a sophomore, junior, second semester freshman? good luck!

My previous post didn't go up so sorry in advance if there's a duplicate.
@Supercolosal
My admissions counselor (Kaitlin Prieto) notified me via e-mail on November 8 for the grades. Unfortunately, I was only able to submit them after the long weekend (4 days later)! Hope that isn't delaying anything too badly as I already have an offer of admission (and pending deposit request) at Northeastern. I go to school here in Boston, but was born in Brazil and raised on Cape Cod!
@Tomeu
Did you independently submit a midterm report (with your app or later on) without having a request sent to you? Like I said, I sent my stuff a while back. It did take a while to process, but nothing too strenuous. Hopefully you see those lovely checkmarks soon!
Like I said, born in Brazil, raised in the states. Currently attending Emmanuel College in Boston. Applying as a second semester sophomore. GPA is currently 3.89 but will be a 3.92 if my mid-semester grades hold up (no reason they shouldn't). Experience on an exec board at school, research for an international non-profit, write for an online magazine, jobs, community service and other random extra-currics. I would be totally confident about admission if it wasn't for my 2.88 high school GPA. I went to an IB school and did receive the IB diploma so maybe that will help. But I'm honestly just hoping the high school transcript is a formality and isn't that important, since mine is pretty bad. Ugh. Crossing my fingers!
Good luck!!

@ohmymarc
I submitted it without them asking. By the way I am also an international student form Spain, I also did the IB and I'm currently at PSU UP. I wish I get those checkmarks asap... I'm thinking about calling them but I do not want to sound desperate lol to which school within NYU are you applying?

@Tomeu
Applying to CAS. Applied for International Relations which is an honors major... sheesh. You can only apply to IR after being accepted, so I would assume I would be admitted to Politics or something of the like. That is.. IF I get admitted!

Does anyone know if the school you're at affects admission at all? Cause I mean, a 3.92 at PSU or Emmanuel should definitely be worth more than a 3.92 at a CC. Hope Im not offending anyone who goes to CC, but its definitely the truth.

I think they do take into consideration the institution you are at in regards to your GPA, I have a 3.85 from PSU and it is only like 14 spots behind NYU in many ranks. However, a 4.0 at a CC also looks reaally good on a transcript.
@supercolosall I seem to recall you are a freshman, am I right? If so, you HS GPA will probably be much more important than your college GPA.
