F on my transcript and I'm worried

I attended Rider U my first year of school. I'm now at my local CC. I finished Rider with only a 2.575 due to me receiving an F in my Behavioral Neuroscience class. I do expect my accumulative GPA from Bucks to be around a 3.5. The schools I plan on applying to are Temple, Pitt, Penn State, and a few PA state schools. Some of the schools require personal statements and on top of me having an F on a transcript, I wasn't really involved in anything in high school so I have no idea what to write my personal statement about.

Do you guys have any suggestions for my personal statement.? And if that's good in their eyes, I know it won't cancel out an F on my transcript, but will it help a lot.?

What kind of advice has your transfer advisor given you? Usually they are expert at this kind of thing. Tomorrow, pop by the counseling center at your CC and get some help with your applications.
