Transfering to Stony Brook University

I'm currently a sophmore at St Johns University and I was really thinking about transferring to Stony Brook University for chemical engineering in fall 2013. I currently have 42 completed credits by the end of this semester and have taken calculus I,II, some programming classes, and a calculus based physics class. I've never recieved anything lower than a C in any of my classes. I currently have a 3.1 gpa and I'm hopefully going to try and bring it up but I wanted to know what my chances were about transferring? Thank you
