I am going to try to get into University housing on campus. I think this would be the easiest way to meet people, etc. If I dont get in there I guess I will do Granville.

Concern about gpa

When you transfer to UNC, does your gpa from your present college transfer too? Or do u start with no gpa?

i'm transfering from univ of south florida as a junior, bringing in 52 credits. i had a 3.75 gpa there in a broad spectrum of liberal arts courses, some techinical like computer programming and others less, like intro to dance. i was involved in the community, which is harder to do at some places than others. it's no easy task at usf. i also crafted what i consider to be an award winning essay, with well thought out lines like "if trees could attend college, perhaps the only one not interested in carolina would be a long leaf pine." brilliant, you see, because long leaf pines are the trees from which a high percentage of tar comes from.

my high school sat's, which i took over 3 years ago were 1160--upper 80% at usf, lower 20% at unc. i think i've grown a lot intellectually since my junior year in high school though. not so much as a result of college, but from my own extracurricular pursuits.

Hey guys, first off, congrats on getting accepted into UNC. It's starting to look like I might be one of your new classmates as I recently got accepted as well, however, I'm not sure as if I'll commit. I'll have a junior standing at the end of this semester with 64 credits. I'm currently enrolled at UMD and am anticipating in getting accepted into the business school here. However, I'm not sure about UNC's business school. Does anyone know how I could get into their business program and still graduate within 4 years? I have most of their required prerequisites but I obviously need to know if I can enroll in business courses for the time being. Does anyone know if they'll exempt me from any courses or help me get into their business program at all? My decision is hanging on the line here! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems as though they'll let me take courses based on a phone conversation but I'm uncertain and realize I'll have to meet with some advisors.
