Where should I apply?

Received my GED, then went to community college. Wasn't serious about it at first but now my GPA is going up. Right now it's 3.26. ACT was 24. I will have my AA in December. I want to transfer to a nursing (BSN) program. Could I be accepted at any of these universities for the Spring, or should I stay at the CC and complete my prereqs and try to raise my GPA before transferring in the Fall? Will they overlook my past if they see I'm improving? I'm looking at Marquette, St. Xavier, and University of Illinois-Chicago. Do I have chances there and if not, where should I look?

I think your question is too specific for anyone to answer here. I would suggest you call the Admissions Office at one or two of your preferred schools. Ask for the person(s) who handles Transfer Admissions. These folks are usually very helpful. You can ask that person re the Spring vs. Fall transfer.

As to whether they will "overlook" your past if they see you're improving, I think that going from a GED to community college and doing well is a very, very good profile. If you write a good essay or two and can get a couple of good professor recommendations, I think you can do well.

I don't know about how difficult it is to get admitted to those particular Nursing programs, though. Do you have any stats on that?
