Has anyone ever been accepted after second attempt?

You're rejected for freshman and sophomore transfers, but accepted for junior? That would be interesting.

Bump.

How are people able to get good recommendation letters after knowing the professor for only 3-4 months?

as far as rec letters go... you just have to be the student that sits in the front of the class, speaks up in class, does really well on tests/papers, visits during office hours, etc. it's not hard if you're assertive, warm, and determined. most professors know a good student from a not-so-good student after just a few weeks.

if you're rejected twice, and it's not a prereq issue... it sounds to me like you need to choose another school and make the most of it.
