| Can I transfer with these stats?
Hi guys,
I’m currently an incoming sophomore at a “2nd tier” university in Massachusetts (I just transferred into the honors program for next year based on GPA). I am a pre-med biology major, and I’m thinking about minoring in either math or music.
Could you let me know my chances as a JUNOIR TRANSFER, assuming I do just as well or a little bit better this coming (soph) year for:
Tufts, UVA, UNC-Chapel Hill, Brandeis, Vassar…or other schools in the area you think might fit? (I don’t just want to “move up” to a better school…I have reasons for transferring)
High School:
Rank: 28/288, top 10% (this only includes up to jr year…I got all A’s and one B- my senior yr which would’ve brought this up more)
High School ECs: In Orchestra, private chamber groups, won regional music competitions, masterclass performances, music leadership positions…just loads of music stuff, mathletes school team
SAT I
Critical Reading: 650
Math: 610
Writing: 640
SAT IIs
Math2c: 580
Biology: 630
French: Will be taking it soon…
APs
AB Calculus: 5
Biology: 4
English Language: 3
Chemistry: 3
U.S. History: 3
French: 1
My Current University:
GPA: 3.65 (this past semester was 3.69)
ECs: Orchestra, Chamber Groups, Volunteering, Dean’s List for each semester I’ve been here so far, Dean's Scholar, summer jobs…nothing too spectacular
If I pull my GPA up (or maybe even retake the SATs) and write a great essay and get good recommendations, do I even have a shot?
Thanks,
