rejected.. and this was literally my dream college since elementary school... but i'm not giving up that easy. i'm going to go to unc chapel hill this fall and try again for spring semester.. and then i'll apply to grad schoo.. and cornell law school.. and UGH! maybe i'll just end up working as a janitor just to be there.

oh and i have a 3.89 gpa, won several writing contests, i worked 3 jobs (over 40 hours, don't as how i managed..) and have 94 credit hours.

I know you are disappointed, and were joking about the janitor thing, but you really shouldn't have to beg. If you have to apply to a school 3 or 4 times (assuming you applied out of HS), it should be evident that the school isn't a good fit, for whatever reason.

Take me for example. I was in love with the U of Chicago for years. I was rejected first as a HS senior then as a transfer this year. First time around, I knew I was academically unqualified. I applied again with a 3.94 and good credentials. After the second rejection, it took me a while to realize that I'm just not a good fit regardless of whether my stats were good or not. I love Chicago's academic philosophy, but hate Chicago's student body. (I live close to the university and have visited frequently)

Point is, UNC is a great school. I'd stay there and take advantage of every opportunity I could without the distraction of filling out transfer paperwork. Have some self-respect and make a name for yourself at UNC.

actually, i didn't apply out of HS because i had to stay close to home for family reasons for these two years. this was my first time applying to cornell.

also, i am neither lacking in self respect, nor do i think that my desire to attend a particular school marks desperation on my part.

Ok, my bad. I wrote that under the assumption that you want to try for Cornell a third time because you said it was your dream college since elementary school.

^ Honest mistake..

But even if it was the third time...it's a great school, and obviously they wanna go. So if it takes 3 times...so be it. I probably would have applied again had I been rejected!
