Cal Poly or SDSU - poly sci major

I am still waiting to hear from USC and Santa Clara, but since I won't hear from them until after May 1st (when I have to send in my SIR for either Cal Poly or SDSU) I need to pick one of the two I know I got into. I have not visited either school yet, but I will be attending Cal Poly's open house next week, so that may help my desicion. From what I have heard and read, it seems like Cal Poly is much better and more highly regarded than San Diego, but not sure if it is true for poly-sci majors. So what does everyone think? If I get into Santa Clara or USC, I will most likely go to one of them, but if I don't, I want to make sure I will be going to the best school I can. Also, I am not sure if it matters or not, but I am planning to go to law school after I graduate, and I am not sure if one school will give me a better shot than another when applying.
Thanks for the input,
Kyle
